As one of the approved suppliers on the newly launched NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) framework, we’re proud to play a part in delivering essential compliance services to support the safety and integrity of public sector buildings.
This framework provides Government and NHS teams with streamlined access to a carefully vetted lineup of specialists offering active and passive fire safety, fire risk assessment, consultancy, asbestos management, legionella treatment, and more.
The framework offers key benefits, including:
- Assurance of Standards: All providers meet British standards, Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), and relevant industry accreditations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Tailored to meet health and safety regulations, including full compliance with the Asbestos Regulations 2012 for safe and effective asbestos removal.
- Risk Reduction: Proactive safety measures and expert consultation help prevent incidents related to fire, water safety, and hazardous materials.
Brendan Griffin-Ryan, Senior Category Manager at NHS SBS, highlighted the framework’s importance: “The framework aligns with key health and safety regulations—ensuring seamless integration and adherence to all compliance in critical areas like fire safety, water treatment, and asbestos management, crucial for maintaining the safety and integrity of NHS buildings, protecting patients, staff, and visitors.”
The need for these services is urgent. NHS England estimates the maintenance backlog at £13.8bn, surpassing the £13.6bn total cost of running the NHS estate annually. The National Audit Office reported 5,400 clinical incidents in 2023-2024 due to infrastructure failures — including fire risks, floods, electrical issues, and hazardous material exposure.
As an approved supplier, we are committed to helping tackle these pressing challenges by delivering high-quality, compliant solutions that contribute to building a safer, more resilient healthcare estate. By prioritising NHS compliance and incorporating stakeholder insights, this framework agreement is not just robust and reliable. We look forward to supporting NHS teams in navigating complex safety requirements and ensuring peace of mind for patients, staff, and visitors alike.
