McGee has donated a whopping £33,000 to the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity!
This fantastic donation was as a result of Michael McGee, Director of McGee attending the ‘Battle of the Commentators’ lunch headed up by Austin Healy and Will Greenwood. The event hosts 750 guests and one of the highlights includes the opportunity for guests to win the money raised on the day. Michael McGee was the lucky winner and immediately announced that he would be donating all £33,000 to the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity!
Michael McGee, Director of McGee said:
“We have been a supporter of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity for many years, so we are absolutely delighted to be able to donate such a fantastic amount of money to help them continue their vital work. As a business we take the mental health and wellbeing of our employees and those that we work with extremely seriously and as one of the Trustees of the charity, I am very aware of the excellent work they do to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our construction workforce.”
Bill Hill, CEO of the charity said:
“We are hugely grateful for such a generous donation from McGee. We receive no public funding and so rely on the generosity of those within the industry to support their own and McGee is certainly doing that! This money will go a huge way to supporting our 24/7 helpline and app and ensuring that we can deliver pro-active interventions to provide support where it is most needed, including a variety of mental health initiatives to both individuals and organisations.”
McGee has also dedicated space on one of their tipper trucks to promote the 24/7 construction industry helpline across its entire body which has taken to the roads of London to highlight McGee’s support for the charity, whilst raising awareness of the charity’s inspiring work.
