A beautiful grade II listed building in the heart of Finsbury Circus. Set over eight floors, this impressive period property offers a wealth of beautifully refurbished offices with lightwells running throughout.

PROJECT OVERVIEW.

Awarded the contract to remove and dispose of asbestos from a large-scale commercial office building in central London.

The project required careful planning due to ongoing occupancy during the project. The asbestos removal focused on the 6th floor ceiling voids, targeting sprayed asbestos coating on structural beam work, along with associated dust, debris, and residue. The work was conducted out of hours to minimise disruption, with strict adherence to health and safety protocols.

Complex Project Management
Successfully coordinated the project with out-of-hours work schedules to accommodate the building’s occupants, ensuring minimal disruption and continuous site security.

Safe Asbestos Removal
Utilised wet injection methods to safely remove asbestos-containing sprayed coating from structural beams, with full-time compliance monitoring to ensure fibre release was kept below the control limit.

Encapsulation and Protection
Applied Ecoseal sealant to encapsulate the entire ceiling space and structural beams, addressing asbestos-containing cement shuttering that could not be removed due to its structural importance.

Regulatory Compliance
Acted as Principal Contractor under CDM regulations, ensuring all CDM and COVID-19 safety regulations were strictly followed, including the provision of welfare facilities and site-specific construction phase plans. The project was completed to the full satisfaction of the client and its professional team.
