Kick-start your career in sustainability and make a real impact from day one. We’re looking for a motivated and passionate Graduate Environmental Advisor to join our Environmental, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability team.
About the Role
As a Graduate Environmental Advisor, you’ll play a key role in helping ensure our projects meet environmental standards and targets. From managing air quality and waste to supporting community engagement and sustainability initiatives, your work will contribute to reducing environmental impact and promoting responsible construction practices.
You’ll work closely with project teams and external stakeholders, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of areas including compliance, environmental monitoring, reporting and sustainability strategy. You’ll also be part of wider corporate and social responsibility initiatives, helping us build stronger relationships with the communities we work in.
This role offers a unique blend of site-based and strategic work – ideal for a graduate looking to develop their skills and grow into a well-rounded environmental professional.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll receive support and training to build your skills in areas such as:
- Supporting compliance with environmental legislation, planning conditions and sustainability requirements (e.g. BREEAM/LEED).
- Assisting with environmental audits, inspections and impact assessments on live project sites.
- Helping develop and implement environmental management plans and sustainability strategies.
- Supporting reporting on carbon, waste and other environmental key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Working with site teams to promote environmental best practices and raise awareness of sustainability issues.
- Supporting community engagement and social value initiatives.
- Assisting in delivering training and awareness sessions for site personnel and stakeholders.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by analysing environmental data and recommending improvements.

Essential:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related subject.
- A genuine interest in environmental issues and sustainable development.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved on-site and in the community.
- Desirable (but not essential – we’ll support you to learn):
- Knowledge of BREEAM, ISO14001:2015 or other environmental standards.
- Understanding of environmental legislation in the construction industry.
- Awareness of waste, noise, dust and carbon management principles.
- Experience from a placement, internship or university project related to environmental management or sustainability.
